Best Option Alpha bots (2026): shared templates by strategy
Updated October 2026. Educational overview, not a recommendation.
"Best" depends on your account size, broker, risk tolerance and whether you can watch positions during the day. Instead of crowning a winner, this guide groups popular publicly shared templates by strategy so you know what to test on paper first. Option Alpha also runs its own Top Bot Templates leaderboard. Note that its stats reflect the original bot settings, not what each trader changed after cloning.
0DTE iron butterflies
Flat Flyer opens a $10-wide SPX fly at 10:00am centered on the prior close. Option Alpha introduced the idea in its March 2026 update. Watch broker assignment fees. SPY 0DTE Iron Butterfly SuperBot adds 1DTE trades and smart stops.
0DTE / 1DTE iron condors
Options include the Peg Research Based 0DTE SPX Bot, 0DTE Iron Condor w/ Iron Fly Hedging, Delta Adjusting 0DTE (about $15k buying power, per its author) and Iron Paycheck (1DTE with max-loss stops). Same-day expirations can move fast. Learn what "not PDT safe" means before going live.
Credit and debit spreads (weekly to monthly)
Trendy Short Put Spread is among the most discussed community bots. The official CORE samples (put credit spread, call debit spread) are clear starting points. Short Call Short Put Paycheck 2 adds QQQ regime filters for single stocks.
Wheel and earnings
The Wheel Strategy and The Wheel (artificial) templates use spreads to imitate cash-secured puts and covered calls. The Earnings Bot carries event risk by design.
How to evaluate any shared bot
- Check whether its stats come from paper, backtest or live trading.
- Read the version history and comments for changes.
- Paper trade it on your broker for several weeks.
- Size it by maximum loss, not win rate.
